I don't think $ is Peters main concern. Nor speed. This from 6 years ago...

Brian's scripts that push out new configs upon IP change.
I don't have brians scripts, and I'm using a config tool based on
netconf/yang to configure my routers. A Yang model for HECNet, anyone?
Meanwhile, if anyone need me to change a tunel on a box I hapens to
operate, send me a email with the needed info.
(Why do addresses change? T10 nor T20 speak DHCP or ND?)

If anyone actually wants a VT340, or some other terminal, it's actually not that hard to find one. There are companies that are in the business of selling refurbished terminals. Just Google for them, and you'll find plenty.
Johnny
What kind of prices are they usually asking for? I've seen some DEC refurb stuff go for crazy money.
Then again it'd be nice to know that my new shiny toy won't blowup in 48 hours.
I think I've seen VT340s for something like $300-$500 approx. Refurbished. Less if just used.

Hello!
Excellent write up. Right now (no pun included.) I'm still stepping
through the slightly tortuous steps of logic concerning what to run on
mine further along. I'm aiming towards a setup along the line of
yours.
And yes someone has emulated an I4381. I've also emulated a I370 model
168 on mine. (All of you probably know what hints I am getting at
there.)
When all of this goes live, I'll be delighted to report here regarding
what happened.
And of course Tony I'll change details accordingly so I don't crash
the network, since you did request that.

No one does. They run as a service on my colo box. You're more than
welcome to a copy though if you'd like if you want to see what the do.
I looked at Yang, I didn't see it solving this problem, however.

You're already in the database, I just have you disabled because you
never got back to me with snmp info. I'll enable it to send you emails
of the configs so you can manually tweak your end of the tunnels.

Hi Peter,
I'm on the HECnet cisco mesh but have never had your tunnels come up. If you're interested in bringing your side up I can send you my IP and I'll reinstate your GRE tunnels.
Regards, Tim.

No it has a 3W3 port and the cable outputs to BNC connectors.
One built-in and one on the add-on graphic card.
Aha. So it's video signal with sync on green. You need to have a monitor
that can handle this. Many today don't...
That is most likely your problem, and not frequencies...
