Could always run a few emulated boxes, but I guess it's not the same thing.

Owing to the cost of 1 kWhr these days I no longer run one or two systems 24x7. So it doesn't make sense to keep the bridge up and running. So that's two systems less (at least).
BTW actually the electricity didn't get that much dearer, taxes went up.

So I ran a simple script that tried to get the executable characteristics of a node, for each node in the nodedb.
I was surprised to see that only 33 systems seemed to be online.
I thought there would've been more up.
Any way, here's the list of nodes that were shown as up:

Sampsa,
STRGTE:: is the cluster alias for SGC:: (and others). SG1:: should be online but I can not check it from here - I am out of town. When it is online, 5 additional areas are connected.

work, or are Sun ones not compatible?
"Sun ones"...different models of Suns use different ones. I believe
the one you want is a DS12887A.
That's the newer replacement for the Dallas 1287 TOY clock? I purchased a
number of them recently for my systems. I think I ordered from Jameco.

Hi Sampsa
I am now working on a VMS public access system for the UK - ala deathrow. I expect it'll take several months to get it up and running. So far so good.
We'll get that on there when it's stabilized.
Mark.

I've just rewritten the LAUNCH facility on CHIMPY and thought I'd let people with public services on their boxes, guest accounts etc know about it.
Basically, LAUNCH presents a list of potential services on HECNET (and a couple on the Internet) and then allows the user to connect to them.
If you want your system to be listed, let me know.
