Sampsa (and others), At around midnight local Dutch time (UTC+2) the ftp server Cesium will be shut down, owing to the noise and heat that the system produces.. That s a strange error message, perhaps there s version mismatch? I run UNZIP 5.42, built on AlphaVMS V1.5 on 14 January 2001. I realise that is quite old but then again I haven t had any problems with it. To check things, I did this: - unzipped the first file (porting tools 1 of 2), no errors - renamed that file and ran differences between the orginal .dd file and the new one: no differences were found. I just tried the first one, on both OS X and VMS, and it said no zip file directory was found.. Sampsa, The .dd files have all been zipped with the -V switch to preserve VMS file attributes. Avtually, zipping the .dd files didn t reduce their size much: between 6% and 13% only. So you might just as well download the original files. The ftp server is up and running, the hecnet bridge is down btw. last time I checked the code, I don't think it was using blocking sockets, so it would 'hang' from time to time processing data if there was nothing to read.......
