The VAX 11/780 may well have been limited to just 32 MB, I can t remember.
Try modifying PHYSICAL_PAGES, perhaps the microcode that comes with simh was modified.

Ah, bummer - what about the 11/780? The amount of physical pages supported by VAX/VMS depends on the hardware.
Simh emulates a VAX(server) 3900 IIRC and you ll find information here:
http://www.compaq.com/alphaserver/vax/archive/mv3800.html
Apparently the 3800/3900 support 64 MB max.
You also need to change the SYSGEN parameter PHYSICAL_PAGES, this is not done by AUTOGEN.
Oleg suggested another .bin file that might work though IIRC it was intended to support a microVAX 3900 instead of the server model so that VMS would load with a A license. Most users don t have a B license to satisfy LMF.

I just increased the memory on one of my SIMH VAX VM's to 512 MB from 64 MB - the system boots fine but SHOW MEMORY (under OpenVMS 7.3-1) still reports 64 MB. Do I need to tell the VMS installation about the new RAM somehow? How much RAM does 7.3-1 (VAX) support anyway? Sampsa

Try to replace ka655.bin firmware with the following file:

Guys,
On the same note, my network will be disconnected some time in the near future, I've ordered a change to my DSL service (moving from two lines and a load balanced router to a single bonded connection - should increase down and uplink speeds by roughly a factor of 2).
At the moment I've only got a bridge connection to update, but anyone relying on GORVAX's MULTINET tunnel will experience some (hopefully minimal) downtime.

Hello!
Thank you for advising us. I'm not the sort to "Stun the messenger
