I do not create any accounts unless asked by the node owner...
Only some machines have guest accounts and as far as I know we have no
standard. This site does not have guest accounts. I do create accounts
on request for some of the machines. Mostly PLUTO::, because it is the
only RSTS/E system on HECnet, but it is not up all of the time. With
the exception of PLUTO:: none of my machines offer anything that HECnet
users don't already have.

Ah, no guest accounts have been setup unless Steve did it so I'm
assuming he hasn't. I'll create some guest accounts tomorrow.
What's the standard HECnet guest?

Hi Brian, It may have been an example of the NML issue discussed here

guest/guest and hecnet/guiest but that didn't work. Well, I quit for the
day, it's late out here.

Brian, is RIFTER a phase V node? NCP set exec node RIFTER doesn't

No, it's a Phase IV node.

I agree! It certainly makes sense to use LEGATO as the other US hub.
It is on the other side of the country and has similar characteristics -
namely Multinet and bridge connections, plus static IP address(es).
I would also like to offer up RIFTER if needed. The caveat there is that until I get new batteries for my one UPS the host that RIFTER runs on can be unstable due to power blips. Not that they happen often.
I hope to get SUN up and running sometime soon as well as that has better overall internet connectivity as well as UPS/generator backup as it's in a proper datacenter.
If it matters, connectivity is as follows:
Home - 60mbit down, 6mbit up, static IP
Colo - 100mbit down, 100mbit up, static IP

looks like we could use another big US "hub" just in case.
You can use LEGATO - half the machines connected to SG1 are also
connected to that (or conversely, there's only about 3 or 4 machines
that aren't connected to LEGATO).
BTW, area 59 is also connected to LEGATO - that got left out of the
map somehow.
What's with area 4? It doesn't have any connection...
Bob
P.S. Nice map - thanks! Hmmm... Somebody could write a DCL script to
crawl the network and output the connection data in CSV format, and then
the map could be updated "automatically".
The problem with area 4 is that it is missing Multinet since the change
from BUBBLE:: to SLAVE::. It is on my todo list to fix.
