It's one thing to make them available for HECnet users within HECnet but another to put them accessible to the whole world. HP might (probably will), take a very dim view of this. I have the CDs online now. You can find them in these paths on DUSTY:: AXPBINMAR031: AXPBINMAR032: AXPBINMAR033: AXPBINMAR034: AXPBINMAR035: AXPBINMAR036: AXPBINMAR037: AXPBINMAR038: AXPBINMAR039: Note that there is a [CDROM] directory that has CDMENU.EXE that you can run on Alpha systems to see what's on the different discs. There are also: AXPDOCMAR031: AXPDOCMAR032: AXPDOCMAR033: which contain the documentation. These are Bookreader files and should be usable on VAX or Alpha with the appropriate setup. --Marc

My vote would be to put them online within HECnet. I agree! Put the contents online (somehow) for us to view and use when possible. Okay, I'll do that then. Linux dropping support for DECnet

As others have mentioned, the Panda distribution uses KLH10 not simh. It's supposed to come with a precompiled klh10 executable for Linux and Intel. It also comes with a pre-installed, ready to boot, system image that you can use after some minimal configuration, and there's README file that describes how to boot and configure it. I've got to admit that it's been a while since I tried it, but I don't remember any problems. What's the issue you're having? As for Linux DECnet, I'm afraid this has absolutely no connection. The Linux DECnet package allows a Linux machine to speak DECnet natively (well, more or less) so a Linux machine can participate as a node in a DECnet network. This is independent of any simulations or simulated operating systems. If you have a lot of DEC machines, it's very handy to be able access your Linux machines with FAL/NFT, SET HOST, NCP/NML, etc. Bob
