Won't work until there's a default FAL user and an INFO.TXT...
So what's supposed to be in this INFO.TXT file that everyone's been
talking about lately? I think I may be too much of a newcomer here to
know about it. Where should it be, and what should it contain?
Actually, thanks for reminding me. This is something someone should
write up a page about. I'll happily put a link to that on the hecnet
webpage... (Or host it, if needed.)
That's the sort of thing that should definitely be in the help system.
Nah. We need something that everyone can access. Not something that exists in the HELP system of a specific machine, that you need to know about, and log in to.
(Although, I could make it available both as HELP and a web page from MIM, and you don't even have to log in to access the HELP on an RSX system... :-) )

I don't think Sunacle will let Java die. ;)
In all fairness, he did say "we'll spend the next 50 years trying to get rid of it".
I know someone that was trying to make an IRC bot in x86 ASM...
I'll probably do one in PDP-11 assembler, just to spite you. :-)
That would be impressive!

On Sol.Stupi.Se <http://sol.stupi.se/> (59.10) they think it

I'm sure tehey don't even understand the stackpointer moves UP not
down on a DEC20/PDP10.
You are giving them way too much credit, Peter. I'm sure most of
them would not even know what a stack pointer is... The stack is a
magic object that keeps information around in your Java virtual
machine...

Sadly over here attacking back is considered a crime, if you get caught of course. Because of my work, I can not do this.
On my hobbyvaxen, those script kiddies fill up the logs and sometimes fill up also connections, so I decided to disable ftp and change the ssh port. Pretty quiet nowdays.
My VAXen have had open guest-account for a decade, but only couple of logins per year. And nothing bad has happened.

I consider PHP t be marginally lower than both, but no less of a bastardisation of the concept of coding. I do owe my career to it though ;)
