Crimper

Best bet I would have thought was ebay - that's where I picked mine up from - it's second hand and specifically for MMJ. Not sure whether a generic RJ12 crimper may do the job, would depend on how it handled the tab. I've thought about doing a bulk order of MMJ connectors - if there is some interest out there for taking some off my hands I'd consider it. Regards, Mark. --

RJ45 MMJ Cables

I have made my own cables in the past, although I've now run out of MMJ connectors. I have a whole reel of cable if anyone needs some, or if you have some MMJ connectors and need cables I can make them up for you. Regards, Mark

RHESUS is (finally) up again

I have someone booting some DECserver 200 which was served by PONDUS:: (It's all in the logs...) Only a couple of days ago. The RJ45 to MMJ adapter is known as a H8584-AA (in my case REV A). I use them on my DEChub-90TL's. They work GREAT! They can be hard to find these days and also costly, but well worth it. I also have a VT220 I'd like to hook up in the living room someday ... :) I figure 50 feet at 9600 would work just fine. Your issue (like mine was) may be cables - either you'll have to use a RJ45 to MMJ cable wired appropriately, or get some of those RJ45->mmj things that plug into the terminal server. I have a wiring guide for DECServers if you need it and can place it on a HECNet accessible drive - just let me know. I have an abomination of a connector/cable hooking the 90M to MISER's console, some DB25-9pin job connected to a null modem adapter connected to a db25-mmj with then some silver satin running to the decserver ... I use NetBSD for both the HECnet bridge link and MOP. Sampsa, when you get a chance put a console cable (and terminal) on the DS200 and power it up. It should tell you the MAC address of the boot host. From there we can figure out which system is actually loading the box. It could be any number of systems on HECnet depending on which one is available at the time of the boot and which ones pass MOP.
