I've been rewriting the code that does address rewriting for mail that
passes between MAIL11 and SMTP the last few days, and I think I got it
sorted now. So, if people have tried, and found either funny, or
non-working behavior please try now, and see if thinks look better.
I've also been testing with VMS MAIL, which uses MAIL11 in some more
creative ways, to make sure it gets translated in reasonable ways by my
RSX gateway.
As a warning, the CC field in VMS MAIL might not be totally correctly
handled yet.

The Gmail problem still persists I see, but that is their problem.
My messages sent to hotmail addresses seem to lose the body text too.
and send to mim::"tony at tardis.recondite-computers.co.uk" (effectively
sending back to myself) loses the message body too.

gmail does not work, and I doubt they will fix it. But either way, it's
not something that will change over night, so you can give up on that one.
(I thought it was clear that gmail refuses, and it's outside my control.)
Hotmail loosing the body is a bit more strange though. That should be
looked into.

As a data point, I sent mail from this host (thrifty) to miser::fred at ....
Received fine on MISER::
did a reply/extract and while I received the quoted message back on
thrifty, my reply body was missing ...

I've sent mail with VMSMAIL to the internet through my mail gateway, and
received the mail just fine. Could any of you send me a mail from a
machine that thus seem to strip the body away, so that I might get such
a mail?
