True. The 8650 wins both the air moving competition and the power
consumption competition. a -2060 would probably beat it on power,
though. But we don't have space for the -2060 in the computer room...
But the fans in the 8650... Hurricane class.
You're quite right though, a GS60e is an
impressive piece of gear!
It is. And it would be cool to actually cluster it with the VAXen...

Update have one 7000-720 and one 8650 in the
computer hall, in
addition to one PDP-11/70. (There are also other machines around,
but mostly PC stuff, and some SUN).
Everybody keeps forgetting about the alpha (GS60E). :(
