For me, I use it a lot to transfer files between my own systems and MIM (and occasionally other systems as well).
I occasionally use it for mail to some people as well (once in a while, we even have a mail bridge to the internet, which is fun).
And of course, on MIM, there is a guest account for anyone to play.
And then I use LAT and MOP a lot, both for printers and terminal sessions. (But I don't bridge LAT to anyone else.)
What else...? Hmm, it's a way to keep in touch with other odd people who thinks this kind of stuff is fun.

down). On another one, the bank sold the house to another bank for $60,000
more than the asking price (WTF!). Needless to say, the last six months
have been trying, and realizing we're coming up on the six month mark is a
rather depressing thought. :-(

Of course if MONK was up, the CGI script that shows the status of HECnet
would have most of this info.

Once I reorganize my home office I also have a VAXStation 4000/90A I'd like to get on HECNet as well as someday perhaps being able to acquire one of those Itaniums I see on eBay that go for cheap occasionally.

speaking of hecnet I posted the 'updated' version of the simh stuff on
the simh list, and the full source/binary stuff is available at
sourceforge....
