(yeah, I know I skipped 33.304)
Thanks!

Hello!
Probably.
But if I get the strings worked out regarding my plans, I might have a
host named Enterprise running.

Hey Dave,
When you installed RSTS/E and configured DECnet, what options did you give? I want to see what I did wrong. Did you do anything after installing the layered product that was special or did you configure it in the little installer thingy?

I thought encryption and commercial messages were strictly
verboten on HAM stuff.
They are. So let's not encrypt stuff. And how much commercial
data flows across HECnet? ;)
So, now that selling DECnet-based internet access to rural areas over
packet radio is out, how about we setup some HECnet nodes in
Antarctica?
We could probably do that! Is Ethan Dicks among us? If not, he
should be. He works down there. I've CCd him on this.

KXT11s are very fun boards. I have one, I like it a lot.
I don't have any KXJ11 though. They are as rare as hens' teeth,
though I do see one on eBay right now for a not-too-terrible price. I
just looked at the auction; it says "10+ available"!!!
I'll bet he'd accept a lower-than-normal offer if it were for a
quantity of them. Bulk purchase?

Let's hijack one - I thought the Iranians managed to get one up there, don't think anyone would particularly give us trouble in the West if we took it over..
We could do that. I have some satcomm gear here.
(assuming one of our governments hasn't already grabbed that satellite..)

I was thinking about that (also in regard's to Steve's comment about him
having an IP on the 44. amateur reserved net). I experimented with this
years ago, but there was no one around my area to test with.
Wouldn't latency be an issue?
I think it could be handled. Thinking of all the slow links DECnet
was used with in its early days, I'd be surprised if it didn't handle
them well.

What about raspberry pi based weather balloons that also handle HECnet?
