AlphaServer ES40: Dual 667MHz, 4G RAM, 18G 5.25" IBM SCSI drive I had laying around that I don't have a caddy for so it's just staying in by sheer dumb luck. (I have a second but it seems to be dead..)
I'm trying to mess with the quad-proc instead it seems to be stalling after "jumping to bootstrap code" any ideas? I'm thinking I need a firmware upgrade.
Node name is MISSY (9.3) (It's already in the node DB).
Accounts available upon request. Running OpenVMS 8.4 (Not set up as a galaxy)
They are also noisy, produce heat and tend to break down more easily..

This one came out of an old

WTF? Since when is an Alpha storage array "old", "mainframe", or

I hate stupid people. But sometimes their stupidity gets thinking people
good, high-end hardware.
By the time I got there, the drive array and some documentation was
all that was left. It lied around my garage for a year or so, then
spurred me into getting the DS10L to give it something to hook up to.
Nice. The Alpha it was originally connected to probably went to a
dealer
for big bucks.

For clarity, for those confused by it being a 1U DS20, it's probably one of these beasties, a DS20L. I DREAD to think how loud the fans are and the torrent of hot air that comes out of the back! ;)

If you are looking for new and shiny you can run 8.4 on it (if you can get an ISO), or 8.3 from the Hobbyist CD with the Hobbyist license.
