What on real hardware? Or some emulator that does SNA..?
Hercules can run OS/390 and z/OS. One of those supports SNA over IP. I'm not sure which. I think Dave might know a bit about this.

Well, that's the end of that project :)

There's actually a piece of software you run on MVS that exports the datasets as RMS files.
Can more than MVS be used? I think we should spin up some VM/370 instances will hercules run on VMS?
I think the export software is MVS only. I've no idea if Hercules will run on VMS..
Hmmm.
The SNA networking is handled (I believe) by the SNA layered product on VMS.
Ahhhhh. Happen to have a copy?
I actually do, on RHESUS::[.medialib.AXP.SPL.DISK3.SNADTFS033] (well I think this is the kit)
There's also a SNA-3270 package in there, I think that lets you log in to the MVS system from VMS..
That would be interesting. ;)
Happen to know how SNA figures out which physical system is which? I'm trying to figure out where we'd need the gateways to be.

Hello!
Sadly yes. It has been a sore point for a while now. In fact since the
turn of the century.
In fact everything that goes wrong to sour this idea of yours Sampsa
is being blamed on six Yetis and four Cybermen all in the yard
surrounding Dave's place. And the monsters in four closets
inside......

Seems I might be able to do something about this Dave and Peter would probably need to help if we go the Cisco route. ;)
But is SNA a protocol suite in a manner similar to DECnet?

Hello!
Yes it would. But which version of that turkey? And it would need to
be a guest of VM to make it work properly.
