On a related note, anyone want to play with setting up a pair of Phase V nodes with X.25 and getting the XOT (X.25 over TCP/IP) working? :)
Depends, what special stuff would I need? ;)

Semi-related, but can Phase V interact with Phase IV at all?
Certainly. Phase V nodes can talk just fine with Phase IV. The major "headache" is that NCP is gone, and you have a totally new way of managing things, and a new system for node names. While it might be better, it's totally unrelated to how nodenames are managed in Phase IV, so that can be a headache.
I've seen one or two weird things in Phase V backward compatibility in the past, but for the most part, it works just fine.

Are you going to go try to run linux for System/390 on hercules on an integrity now? ;)
z/VM with z/OS and debian/390x?
Oooooh! If you get it working in hercules on integrity, let me know.

I thought Phase V-over-IP was some weird app level hack. But I'm a n00b.

Yes, can do.
and if that is compatible with - say - Multinet connections?

It could get a lot uglier - I've had Hercules running on a VAX...

RHESUS has plenty of spare CPU power :)
