Dell Latitude E6500 (it's a Core 2 Duo at 2.5 GHz I think), running Ubuntu Desktop, Oracle VirtualBox and Ubuntu Server inside the VM, then I run SIMH inside the Ubuntu server - this way the main host OS and the SIMH install can talk to each other over the network.
I get about 7 VUPS on my Mac Mini (a 1.66 GHz Core Duo), so the 14 VUPS is about right, a 2.5 GHz Core 2 is about twice as fast as a 1.6 GHz Core...

The amount of physical pages supported by VAX/VMS depends on the hardware.
Simh emulates a VAX(server) 3900 IIRC and you ll find information here:

Apparently the 3800/3900 support 64 MB max.
You also need to change the SYSGEN parameter PHYSICAL_PAGES, this is not done by AUTOGEN.
Oleg suggested another .bin file that might work though IIRC it was intended to support a microVAX 3900 instead of the server model so that VMS would load with a A license. Most users don t have a B license to satisfy LMF.
