There are several connector models that fit a DE9. The H8571-J works for me for all my Alpha's as well as VAXstation 4000 and VAX(station) 3100 models. The H8571-J works in combination with the 25-pin H8571-E (male) and H8571-A (female). The H8575-B only works in pairs, not with any of the H8571-x models, no idea how it is wired inside. Hans
