Unless I'm missing something "meta" about how this thing works, and
assuming it _does_ work, that succeeds in spite of the typo because...
...DCL only looks at the first 4?

Yes. The DCL parser will abbreviate any keyword to the shortest unique value. So the
first 4 may well be enough to distinguish the /end_of_file qualifier from any other
qualifier for the command. It will vary with the command.
