I should take a look; I've never seen it. I wonder if it's a derivative of the
PLATO game "airfight". That was written around 1974, by Brand Fortner at the
University of Illinois. Same sort of description: multi user, several airplane types.
No user defined airplanes or fields, though.
PLATO "airfight" was the inspiration for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
