Well, it was an iMac and the only other things stolen were a few laptops that were fairly
recent so I'm sure they're fenceable for some decent money pretty quickly.
I think these guys were pros, they left no mess or anything so all in all I'm pleased
with the service.

Of course it is completely pointless to steal such items. Reminds me of
the time I had a pair of wings stolen off one model aircraft and the
body off another. You can only help feel sorry for such toerags for
having such pathetic lives to have to resort to such bollocks.

Alas, the server is not merely down but has been stolen - as my

Oh well, shit happens.

just FYI, my part of HECnet is down - the box on which my bridge and

FWIW, CHARON (formerly CODA, formerly LEGATO) is also down and I am
more
like 3.5 megameters (is that "Mm"?) away. Sadly I won't be back
until a
week from tomorrow and my flatmate (though not dizzy or otherwise)
is with
me now. We'll just have to tough it out until then. Sorry.
Actually the machine is probably OK but it seems like my crappy DSL
modem
has picked this moment to quit. Probably it knows that I'm much too
far
away to kick it...
