Greetings,
I noticed this before the move - when I go to the nodename database lookup page, I get a
few lines and then MIM doesn't respond to anything after that.
It doesn't appear to serve any more pages. I assume that the webserver has crashed.
I'm not sure how long this has been happening for. I was trying to check if a new node
had been added to the list.

Hi Supratim,
No - I'm just referring to using a normal web browser.
If I go to http://mim.softjar.se/nodedb i get the first 4-5 nodes listed and then I can no
longer browse to any page on mim for some undetermined period of time.
I've tried it from multiple web browsers from my office and home and this always
happens.
For some weird reason it works fine from Safari on my iPhone if I use this to browse first
- but as soon as I browse to it on my desktop machine, it doesn't respond to either my
phone or my desktop pc.
If I swap my phone to another internet service, I can browse mim while my other pc is
blocked.
I'm not certain when this started. I'm guessing there is some sort of IP blocking
on mim which I keep triggering? I first noticed this about one month ago.
Happy to provide IP addresses etc to Johnny if it helps diagnose anything.

reason. The spoof daemon trigger on lots of things.
If you tell me your IP address, I can tell if that is what happened.
Next thing would be to figure out why. :-)

Firefox and I don't think so - just downloading PDFs (manuals) from

If you're doing any blocking that uses DNS in any way and you're
pointing at the DNS server here, be aware that, right now, we are the
target of a DDoS attack at a rate of 20-30 queries per second. The
nameserver is working, but not "well".
This happens all the damn time, but I've never seen it as bad as it
is tonight. I'm getting about sick of this BS.

No. The spoof daemon in RSX is doing blocking on behavior.
For example, if you are trying to scan the machine for open ports, it
will trigger the spoofer. Also if you initiate connections, and they
don't complete the handshake. Another one is connecting to the web
servers, and then disconnect without any requests, or talking to the
mail daemon and doing silly things... The list goes on and on...

accidentally click that same link again before the first download is
finished, Firefox will start downloading the same file a second time.
I just tried that with MIM and it does indeed download the same file
twice, however MIM didn't block me this time (at least not yet).

Microsoft did that with IE too, early on. That's how IE got to be
"so widely used", inflating the stats by a factor of 2. Nice to see
that they're still playing the same games.

It returned about 4 nodes and now I am blocked again.

I don't think that's the problem. More likely you get blocked for some reason. The
spoof daemon trigger on lots of things.
If you tell me your IP address, I can tell if that is what happened.

Similar issue here. I was able to call up the MIM home page, although it took 20 to 30
seconds to appear.
Then I clicked on the first link for HECnet information http://mim.softjar.se/hecnet.htm.
There was no response and the following eventually appeared in my browser (Firefox):
The connection has timed out
The server at mim.softjar.se is taking too long to respond.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that
Firefox is permitted to access the web.
I tried to return to the home page http://mim.softjar.se/ and received the same timeout
error as above after a minute or so. The site is no longer accessible.
My cable modem IPV4 address is 172.88.56.241 and IPV6
