Guys,
Just for the hell of it I?ve set up an IRC channel on
irc.rizon.net (because they have a
fairly nice Web chat interface on top of being quite stable) called #hecnet_chat.
I?ve also set up an account on LABVAX that will connect you to it using the username
CHAT.
Let me know if you have any problems (and yes, I?m aware that the IRC program crashes on
exit, I have no idea why, but aside from that it seems to work OK).
And just FTI - There is an IRC client for RSX... Should be usable here I think... :-)
Cool - point it at irc.rizon.net:6667, #hecnet_chat (can you make like a DCL file to
auto-connect?)
You can use some logical names to make it automatic.
IRC$HOST, IRC$PORT, IRC$NICK and IRC$CMD. The last is a one liner that
is executed as if you typed it. Typically a join then.
I mean PHONE is cool and all but I frankly get tired
of watching people type :)
Pros and cons. As usual. I actually like the more interactive form of
PHONE. Batch processing is so much the 60s. Interactive computing should
be interactive. :-)
