In case someone is using RPM on HECnet, and using DECnet as the
transport protocol, you need to update your configuration of RPM.
The reason is because I moved the RPM repository directory to a new
place. In order to avoid any similar problem in the future, please use
RPM$DIR: instead of LB:[RPM] which was previously the suggested default
when accessing MIM::
You can change your configuration using RPM CONFIG, or edit CONFIG.CMD
in your RPM directory. If you edit the file directly, it is the USER
variable that should be changed.
If people are using RPM with TCP/IP as transport, no changes are needed,
and all should work without any disruption.

I happen to have my home (not LSSM) PDP-11/83 up today, doing some
hacking with Swedish Pascal to heal my soul, so I took this opportunity
to install it. I'm rummaging through the packages now. Looks fantastic

Speaking of Swedish Pascal, I did some fixes to that a number of years
ago, which I'm not sure I ever released to anyway.
And since Oregon Pascal really is better, I haven't really bothered.
But is there interest in work on Swedish Pascal?

Well I'm certainly interested. Even if Oregon Pascal is better, I
have a personal attachment to Swedish Pascal. I installed it on my
first PDP-11 (the 11/34 that I'm sure I've told you about) when I was
16. That was, wow, 36 years ago. I really liked the compiler, and in
particular its extensions over standard Pascal.
I actually ran across Seved Torstendahl on Facebook a couple of years
ago. I told him about my history with the compiler, the museum, etc and
that, basically, "someone still loves it". He was quite amused, but he
didn't seem too interested in reliving the good old days.

Ok. I'll try and dig up my changes/fixes in the next few days.
I actually worked together with Seved around 20 years ago. He wasn't
that interested in the topic back then either. :-)

That's sad to hear. I realize that I have no right to have any
expectations of him, but he was almost a childhood hero, of sorts, to me.
