Peter,
The VAX Hobbyist license program has been discontinued by the new owners (VSI) since
somewhere last year.
The only practical (legal?) option is now to run VMS V4.6, that precedes the PAK license
program.
I am not going to tell you about the VMS Liberation Front, because that would be against
the law.

I hope you don't mind me asking a novice question. I was an RSX-11M guru rather than a
VAX one - I never did much on the new fangled things.
However, when looking to set up a simh VAX the other day, I see that there are licences
required - how would I as a hobbyis tget one? Do I still have to try to joing DECUS (if it
still exists) or what is the process for requesting a hobbyist licence to bring up a VAX
node on HECnet?

I think we should drop Cisco IOS and pyDECnet from the count -
those aren't really OSes for our purposes.
