Well, it do not respond to ping, it do not seem to respond to port 6667.
Either the machine (or something along the way) is filtering out packets
from MIM, or possibly IRC is used on a different port?

Sorry, total RSX noob here..
If you know a bit of VMS, and you are using DCL under RSX, it will be pretty much the
same commands...

You need to have your terminal set to full duplex, or else RSX will not do both reading
and writing in parallel. It might also be that if you log in with CTERM, that driver do
not support full duplex I/O, but I think it does.
