Of course, but I should've been more clear. If someone thinks one of my interests is
"weird", I don't bother with that person anymore.
They don't have to *share* that interest, of course, but they're not going to
think it's "weird" and still get so much as the time of day from me.

And if this specific thing is viewed as weird by anyone else, well, personally I consider
that to be an excellent litmus test to indicate whether or not I should be associating
with that person.
What really IS weird is people disparaging or dismissing their own interests and
passions.
