It’s on my VMware cluster (ESXI 6.7). The system itself is an HP ProDesk 600 G1, with an
Intel Core i5-4590 CPU, and 16GB RAM. I’d have preferred to land the system on my DL380,
but it’s a G7, and lacked some of the required CPU features. The hard parts were ensuring
the VM had the correct HW configuration, and figuring out how to add a serial line, as
vSphere wouldn’t let me do that. I finally had to log into the ESXI host that it’s
running on to add the serial line.

Excellent! Out of interest, what is OpenVMS running on? Is it raw hardware or
virtualized?

There is now an OpenVMS/x86 system on HECnet, as
I would expect/hope, DECnet Phase IV seems to be working just fine. It’s routing through
my VAX/VMS 5.5-2 system.
