Hi Johnny,
As you know, I have a MULTINET uplink from Eastern US from a SIMH VAX, area 1 only. If I
am guided on how to configure an area router (is it a piece of hardware off eBay? Or
another SIMH vax? Or the same VAX configured differently?) I can support all areas if my
understanding of area routers is correct.
I am also already running an internet-accessible VDE switch; anyone on area 1 can simply
do this and will be connected to you over my MULTINET. All I ask is please enable fstp
using the ?fstp switch when creating the VDE switch locally:
Create VDE switch (DECnet nodes can be plugged into this switch from real or virtual NICs
via vde_plug):
/usr/local/bin/vde_switch -t vde-decnet-tap0 -s /tmp/vde-decnet.ctl -m 666 --mgmt
/tmp/vde-decnet.mgmt --mgmtmode 666 --daemon --fstp
And connect to my public switch which connects to IMPVAX to HECnet via MULTINET:
/usr/local/bin/dpipe /usr/local/bin/vde_plug /tmp/vde-decnet.ctl = /usr/bin/ssh vde0 at
sanyalnet-cloud-vps3.freeddns.org vde_plug
