Johnny,
Yes, FTP is how I normally get it. I just used NFT when, after rebooting, I saw the
HECnet link come back up and I just tried the NFT transfer from the command line. Most of
the time, I just run a batch job to have ftp get it:
$JOB /TIME=(1:00) FTPRSX
$FTP
OPEN MIM.UPDATE.UU.SE:10021
ANONYMOUS
DIR
STATUS
RSTATUS
PROGRESS
GET BQTCP.TAP
CLOSE
QUIT
$EOJ
Your FTP is much faster than NFT, I usually get around 45 KB/s if my internet is
working good.
Thanks,
Mark

You know that ftp is way faster than NFT? And you can
just do "ftp mim.update.uu.se:10021" on your RSX host, assuming you have a new
enough version that it accepts the port number...
Once the firewall is gone, life will become so much more sane again...
(Not sure what issues you might have had with the DECnet link. Maybe just a timeout
issue? It can take a while to recover if the link is lost.)

brought out this latest version of TCP/IP for RSX11M+. My symptoms were that the HECnet
link went down and did not come back up and I could not FTP from RSX to grab the new .TAP

the PDP-11/83 and HECnet came back up so I NFTed the .TAP file down to the 11/83 and
installed the new version. Now everything is perfect.
