They definitely run some other protocols for the cluster operation over CI,
but I was basically thinking that I would expect DECnet also to be done.
I know for sure that Ultrix can talk IP over CI
at least.
It seems quite reasonable except for the fact that CI has such a limited
range and station count. It's just that it wasn't specified in any DNA
spec.

DECnet-VAX (Phase IV) did support DECnet over CI in a cluster, it's in the
manuals. I never used it on any of the internal VAXclusters I managed
though.
