[HECnet] Wildcards using MULTINET FTP server, Linux client?

In ftp, there are separate commands for wildcard operation -- for example "mget" instead of "get" and "mdelete" instead of "rm". That probably accounts for both issues. It may also be that ; gives trouble because it's a Unix shell character.
