You will notice that SG1:: makes heavy use of the bandwidth given all
the areas it supports. In addition to the Multinet Tunnels, I also run
the bridge. It is not only connected to Update but to others. It is
configured so that it does not introduce loops while providing a bridge
connection to sites that do not have static addresses. It manages this
with a cron job that reloads the database periodically.
Oh, I wasn't referring to just HECnet here. Update have a very wide
internet connection to most things. HECnet is not even a blip on that radar.

(This is the guy that got 40Gb/s to his mom about 10 years ago... Yes,
that was not a typo. Fourty gigabit per second. Ten years ago.

I don't think that will help, unless that pipe happens to have one
end somewhere on the US east coast I suspect...
Update itself sits on even more bandwidth. Not helping either...
