Hi, I have a couple of strange issues on RSX-11M-PLUS
with the latest TCP/IP stack (build 14-FEB-2023 00:19).
1) If I create a LB{1,2]SYSLOGIN.CMD with a couple of entries such as:
set /named
set /vt2xx=ti:
when I login, it executes the commands but then I can type nothing at all into the
terminal screen, it is completely frozen.
Is that all you have in there? Because when SYSLOGIN exists and is
executed, the terminal is slaved, and you need to explicitly turn that
off if required. There is a bunch of things you could/should have in
SYSLOGIN.CMD if you have one, and exactly what it should do is based a
lot on the parameters passed to it.
If I remember right, this is documented in the system management manual.
You could also check MIM::DU:[1,2]SYSLOGIN.CMD for some ideas/inspiration.
2) When I try to send an e-mail (I think it is set up
OK), it gives the following error:
SEN
To: PETER.WHISKER(a)GMAIL.COM
Connection to local node:: failed,
CONN STATUS= 2 STATUS2= 0
SENT0 -- STOP ERROR
The [IPLOG]MAILD.LOG shows:
Sun, 19 Feb 2023 09:47:58 (MAI.0) MAIL11 got connection from CLIONA:: (Unknown M
AIL11 V3.0)
Sun, 19 Feb 2023 09:47:58 (MAI.0) Connection lost
I'm a bit lost as to how to debug this further - has anyone else encountered it or
can Johnny shed any light?
This don't make sense. First of all, I can't even find those error
messages anywhere in my code. Are you sure you have the mail package
from BQTCP installed, and not DEC's MAIL11 (or possibly the DECUS MAIL)?
Second, you are trying to send to a gmail address. The log is about a
connection from another DECnet host, which I totally fail to see what
the relation would be. However, it could possibly make sense if the SEN
task is actually from DEC's MAIL11, while it's the BQTCP MAIL receiver.
Actually, the SEN task is almost certainly FORTRAN, which would
seriously suggest it's the DECUS MAIL.
I think you need to check what you have installed, and how.
