Okay so! I've grabbed several tapes from

Which tape images do I use and do I restore the images in a different =

Are you upgrading or is this a clean install?
Clean install from: bb-bt05d-be_vaxvms_v4_6_bin_c1987.tap
Only save set according to backup/list is vms046.a which I write with backup
mua0:vms046.a/save_set dual:
Am I doing something wrong?
--- snip ---
$ mount dua1: vms046
%MOUNT-I-MOUNTED, VMS046 mounted on _MARLEY$DUA1:
$ backup mua0:vms046.a/save_set dua1:
%MOUNT-I-MOUNTED, VMS046 mounted on _MARLEY$MUA0:
$ dir dua1:[000000]
Directory DUA1:[000000]
000000.DIR;1 BACKUP.SYS;1 BADBLK.SYS;1
BADLOG.SYS;1
BITMAP.SYS;1 CONTIN.SYS;1 CORIMG.SYS;1
INDEXF.SYS;1
SECURITY.SYS;1 SYSMGR.DIR;1 VOLSET.SYS;1
Total of 11 files.
--- snip ---
And then:
sim> b rq1
Loading boot code from vmb.exe
%BOOT-F-Unable to locate BOOT fil
HALT instruction, PC: 000004C7 (BLBS 549,4C6)
If the later, restore the .B saveset image to the system disk and then boot.
You should be prompted with subsequnet install instructions.
