I have the list of object numbers mentioned in the RSX manual, but that
is rather limited. And I know a few more from just running services.
So just a few comments below...

Some time ago, I asked about a list of DECnet generic
objects and what
they meant. I remember seeing a response and now I can't find it or
what I thought I saved as a file. Could somebody send me that again?
For now, all I have is what SYSDPY shows. This is an annotated list
(note that numbers are octal unless otherwise specified:
_Object#_ _Name_ _Comment_
0 TASK
1 FAL1
That's File Access Listener - version 1.
2 URDS Unit Record Device
Service (DN200)
3 ATS
4 CTS
5 TCL1
RSX-11M Task Control - version 1.
6 OSI
7 NRM
10 3270 3270 Terminal
11 2780 2780 Remote Job Entry protocol
12 3790
13 TPS
14 DIBOL
15 T20TRM Tops-20/Tops-10/Ultrix Network Remote
Terminal (NRT)
16 T20RSP
17 TCL
RSX-11M Task Control - version 2.
20 TLK
TLK (a talk utility)
21 FAL File Access Listener
File Access Listener - version 4.
22 RTL
Host Task Loader utility. (I think this is used by RSX-11S.)
23 NCU NICE?
Yes. That is NICE.
24 NETCPY
RSTS/E Media Transfer program
25 ONCTH
26 MAIL How different from MAIL11?
I've never seen or heard about that one. RSX (and VMS I believe) do not
speak this.
27 NVT
Network Terminal Handler
30 TCON
31 LOOP Loopback Testing
32 EVENT DECnet Event Reporting
Network Management Event Receiver
33 MAIL11 VAX mail?
Yes. MAIL11, as used by VMS, RSTS/E, RSX and others.
34 FTS File Transfer Service
No idea about that one. It's something else than FAL, obviously...
35 PHONE Phone
36 DDMF
That's the Datatrieve server.
37 X25GAT X.25 gateway
40 UETP User Environment Test Package
41 VXMAIL
42 X29SRV
43 RDS
44 X25HST X.25 Host
45 SNAGAT SNA Gateway
46 SNARJE SNA Remote Job Entry
47 SNAGIS
50 MTSS
51 ELF
52 CTERM Control Terminal
Aka. the "modern" remote terminal protocol, which is very VMS-centric.
53 DNSTA
54 DNSUL
55 DHCF
^D47 POSI RemoteOPR
^D63 DTR
RSX DECnet test tool
^D65 TOPOL
^D66 DQS Digital Queue Service (LAT?)
LAT is not sitting under DECnet at all, so no. Not LAT.
^D117 FINGER Personal Name
service
^D123 PMR
^D201 MS
128-255 supposedly are reserved for customer extensions.
A few of the above I don't have anything to say, but they match what I
can see, but most of the others I have no clue about at all.
Maybe Paul would know something more?
