Sure. I didn't say anything else (although, in reality, Phase V is less
that perfect in its interaction with Phase IV).
But Phase V DECnet over IP only works to another Phase V node. You can't
do DECnet over IP to Phase IV nodes (which can also do DECnet over IP
using Multinet). So it's two incompatible solutions for the same problem
and domain.
In general, most people after a while realize that they prefer to
upgrade from Phase V to Phase IV.

I installed DECnet+ when I was setting up because
it claimed
being able
to do DECnet over TCP.
By poking around with net$configure I found I could get my
machines to
talk DECnet over TCP and I can do all the net
related commands.
So I
figured it must be very close to being able to
connect to HECnet.
I wondered if it is possible to connect to HECnet using DECnet+,
and how
that might be done ?
