I think it's all userspace programs that I have had problems with.
Then again ... I've not had any bug reports from anyone about either and it's quite hard to fix bugs you don't know about :-P
Sorry, you're right. I think I've only talked with you on perhaps rather
vague terms about the problems I've had.
But as we now have HECnet, this is way easier to work on.
I suggest you log into MIM, and then just try to do a few different things:
1) Try phone to a Linux box. Initiated from both sides.
2) Try accessing files from both sides to the other side.
Neither of these things worked when I last tried.
And that's a start atleast. :-)

I've got a DECserver 900TM which works pretty well but I've noticed a pretty significant lag/poor performance when I use the TCP/IP connection. It's the only one I've ever had so I don't know if it's typical for these units or if I have a problem.

have a hobbyist license program and PMAS actually works pretty well at
weeding out the SPAM, but it has become something of a CPU hog in recent

I just point my MX records at Google Mail, set up a catch all account and pick the mail up with fetchmail - port 25 traffic is outbound only.
Added bonus is that if my server is down no incoming mail is lost.

(2.7).

Also, I have managed to forget the system password for GORVAX so will need to do a conversational boot to get into it - need to bring GORVAX and it's host down anyway for some patches to the host OS, will prob do this tomorrow.

I'm still down. The servers are in their racks, but the cables aren't found/unpacked. Plus the weather has been too hot part of the time to run them (record breaking heat wave). I actually just came in from working out there, and have things looking a lot better, while I didn't touch the computers, I did free up some room in front of them.
If I can find the time, I think one of my projects for this winter will be walling in, and insulating an area that can be kept cool next summer. Otherwise I'll have a hard time keeping my systems up in the summer.

I've noticed that lots of the Multinet connections LEGATO is serving
appear to be down. Not all of them, but lots.
PDXVAX - down (I guess Zane still hasn't been able to unpack it).
PETEY - down (Is Dan back from Oz?)
DUSTY - up (good!)
SELENE - down
STUPI - down (Peter, where are you???)
ZARQON - down (Chrissie said it's too hot to run it)
MISER - down
GORVAX - up
Looks like we can still talk to the Johnny Bridge world via GORVAX, but
only areas 1 and 11 appear to be up.
