Guys,
I thought it might be useful to set up a library of VMS media kits (and maybe RSX / RSTS etc as well) - basically images of VMS install CDs, layered products etc, all in one convenient location.
I'm willing to donate some space on RHESUS for this use, say 100 GB?
I've got a copy of the VAX and Alpha software product libraries lying around as well as a couple of versions of VMS for Alpha and VAX as well as IA64 - any contributions would be welcome of course.
Anyone else interested in this?
Sampsa
Cool, that worked, thanks!

Guys,
I'm trying to define some proxies on RHESUS for both CHIMPY and CHIMP, but can't seem to get it to work.
Basically, I've run the following command in AUTHORIZE:
UAF> ADD/PROXY CHIMPY::SYSTEM SYSTEM

The proxy database on RHESUS looks like this:
UAF> show/proxy *
Default proxies are flagged with (D)

What am I doing wrong? Confused.

Johnny,
I don't think my bridge is connecting to you correctly - I am connecting from 188.220.63.1 to you at 130.238.19.25:4711.
Are you seeing this as well?
Sampsa
Nice to see another Itanium box :)

Very nice collection of systems - we are due to sort out the attic where all my dec boxes are currently and I did think about investing in some sort of rack to keep everything in - they are currently scattered under and ontop of a long workbench at the moment.

Hi.
It would be nice to look at alpha system other than OpenBSD :)
Can you create an account for me?

Actually I had the whole 8.3 install CD on the machine itself as a scratch disk, thanks for your help though!

Are you able to download it with FTP or DECnet-over-IP?
I can put the kit on my Alpha.

Sampsa, I'm sure you had a multinet link from GORVAX to my area (3) at one stage, but it's not running now. I suspect my IP address has changed a couple of times since it last worked, it's now 86.10.38.192.
I can't remember what the old IP was but it very likely began with 82 or 86! I've set up the link at my end, so if you can reconfigure yours it should burst into life ;-)

Are you sure your end is set up correctly? Your router's not filtering the

Guys,
I've finally managed to get myself back online, GORVAX and my bridge are up, listening on IP address 188.220.59.24.
Please update your side of the setup to reflect this if you connect to me.

Sorry for the blatent request out of the blue, but I don't suppose you've got installation media for 5.5-2, or know someone who has. I am running VAX APL 4.0 on a VAXstation 4000/90 under OpenVMS 7.3 but there are some compatibility issues with DECwindows which I think are too obvious to have occured with the targetted release of OpenVMS for APL which was 5.4. I think 5.5-2 is the earliest version that supports the 4000/90 so am interested in giving that a whirl to see if it improves matters.
Are you able to access stuff through HECnet? V5.5-2 is on the Hobbyist V1
CD-ROM. I'd have to find it which may take a while.
Zane
Hi Zane,
As soon as Johnny has a few free minutes the plan is to get one of the VAX 4000/90s up on HECnet. So the answer is hopefully soon.
Regards, Mark.
