Go for it!
I'll reconfigure CHIMPY to do email on the behalf of that domain if you wish, the way I've set up my incoming mail is as follows:
1. MX record points at Google Apps
2. Catchall account at Google Apps picks up the mail
3. Fetchmail on my network picks up mail from Google Apps and distributes it here
If you guys want to do direct incoming SMTP for some reason, I'm not sure I'll be able to help, I think my ISP blocks inbound SMTP.

Hi,
Well, hecnet.eu is available - I'd like to see a 'meta' hecnet page online containing links to all the individual sites with a description of the project etc. We could subdomain this to provide smtp.hecnet.eu for example of mail.hecnet.eu and the like.
I'm happy to foot the bill and setup a webserver (wasd of course!).

I don't even have HECnet attachment yet, but in the new year along with this
I plan to bring up an X.400 <-> SMTP g/w on UNIX, and do some tinkering with
MAILBus 400, X.500 and possibly FTAM and VT, too. I realise this would imply
a separate Phase V network for that stuff, but wonder if we could g/w
MAIL-11 to/from HECnet? It's all a bit hazy as it's years since I worked on
this stuff, but remember there was a Message Router to X.400 gateway on
VAX/VMS only.
Cheers,
Andrew
PS. I'd registered isonet.org.uk for the ISO networking stuff.

Well CHIMPY already gates mail in and out, the domain is CHIMPYMAIL.COM - obviously not ideal, but hey :)
If you want to send mail out, address it to CHIMPY::smtp%"user at domain". Incoming mail should be addressed as NODE::USER at chimpymail.com.

OK I'll try to control myself now -- PDP-11 stuff probably isn't that

I'm all for it, I think most of us here are PDP-11 junkies. :-D
There are all kinds on this list, including long time PDP-10 junkies,
who I think are not always so amused by getting too deep into PDP-11
specific hardware issues. We should perhaps try to limit this somewhat
to HECnet related stuff to not totally swap some peoples mailboxes with
stuff that they haven't subscribed to.
Apologies to people who are not that amused by PDP-11 hardware. We got a
little sidetracked. For those who are interested in this, we can keep on
talking offlist.

Bah, get in line for the "my grass is too long" thing. I mow it when it's
working its way to knee high. ;)

Hehe... Hmmm, I wish there was a datestamp that shows when Google had
driven by. I know it was apparently on a Tuesday, but no idea what year. Actually might be 2007. Interesting seeing how a couple things looked prior
to our buying the house. I'm not surprised to see zero difference between
the house then, and the house now, but the neighborhood has definitely
changed.

Bob
To you guys? I don't mind you guys knowing where I live, you all seem pretty cool. Now I wouldn't post the info on my blog or Facebook, I tend to say more controversial things there.

I'm not sure I want to tell :-)
I have to question how many people want to let out that level of detail.
