I really need to get myself a crimper that does MMJ. Any recommendations?
I'd like one that does both MMJ and RJ45 if possible.
Thanks!

I have someone booting some DECserver 200 which was served by PONDUS:: (It's all in the logs...)
Only a couple of days ago.

Sampsa, when you get a chance put a console cable (and terminal) on the
DS200 and power it up. It should tell you the MAC address of the boot
host. From there we can figure out which system is actually loading the
box. It could be any number of systems on HECnet depending on which one
is available at the time of the boot and which ones pass MOP. It could
even be mine... :-)

Yes, and netbsd too which is what I was doing till the dang thing died
on me. However, phoenix from the flames and all that ;) I'm keen to see

The RJ45 to MMJ adapter is known as a H8584-AA (in my case REV A). I
use them on my DEChub-90TL's. They work GREAT! They can be hard to
find these days and also costly, but well worth it. Start on Ebay.

The hecnet.eu domain is currently being transferred. When that's
complete I'd like to get the mail11 gateway configured and then I'll
start on a website. When we're all generally happy with the website, it
would be nice if it was hosted elsewhere, however, I'm keen to keep it
on a box connected to hecnet if that's possible - living the dream and
all that, and it will mean that we can provide information about the
network status directly and possibly develop some other cool
applications.

Though this morning it was that stupid VT420 that I'm currently using that was giving me fits. There is something not quite right about that particular terminal, and one of these days I'm going to have to dig up a better system console.

Guys,
Heads up again, RHESUS is coming back online as I write this, I'd set the sysboot flags to conversational, can't recall why but oh well. This led to me needing to connect to the console on RHESUS by serial cable, which didn't work from my laptop.
I figured my Keyspan USB-serial adapter had finally given up the ghost so wired a null-modem between CHIMPY and RHESUS - discovered it was the idiotic ginormous-DB25-to-3xDB9-dongle-thing had fallen out of RHESUS, yet again. God that is the stupidest cable I've ever seen.

Just an FYI in case anyone noticed, PDXVAX and MONK were down for about a
half hour this morning as the electric company cut off power while they put
an electronic power meter in place. I think I got everything fully online
before I headed into work.

Sounds like the kind of day I had yesterday. The deserver 90TL

Yesterday I bit the bullet and replaced the cable only to have an

decservers
they have the courtesy of giving me a power light. Anyway, my spare
decserver exhibits random and totally undesirable behaviour, so my

HP 9000/C110 (4GB & 2GB disks internal) Linux/HPUX
DEC 3000/300 (2x 1GB disks, one internal, 1 external) DEC Unix/VMS
VAXstation 3100/95 (1gb disk external) VMS
Alpha pws433au (2 4GB disks) Linux/VMS
1 single speed caddy-loading CD reader - unknown marque
1 rrd42 single speed caddy-loading CD reader.
4 CD caddys
Lots of SCSI cables (including, I think, one of those funny-sized ones
that only DEC ever used) and a video cable for the 3000/300
Oh and there's a SPARCstation Ultra5 too ...
Chrissie
Oh god, my boiler is the same.
It used to crash every two or three weeks. And the plumber told me how to refill it and reset it. In the end it turned out to be a very slightly leaky radiator and it's been fine after that. I'm still supposed to check the pressure now and then though.
/me goes off to do it while she remembers.

Yes, that's fine. I work from home so most days during the daytime
will be OK, apart from Wednesday morning. Just give me a day or so's
notice when you'll be here and I'll be ready.

That week is fine apart from Monday and Thursday.

on next Thursday.
