I just added a disk to solar, DKA100: and have created a directory called DKA100:[DECUSLIB] on it.
I want to link it into DKA0:[SYS0.DECNET] as DKA0:[SYS0.DECNET.DECUSLIB].
However:
$ SET FILE/ENTER=DKA0:[SYS0.DECNET]DECUSLIB.DIR;1 DKA100:[000000]DECUSLIB.DIR;1
%SET-E-ENTERR, error entering DKA100:[000000]DECUSLIB.DIR;1 as DKA0:[SYS0.DECNET]DECUSLIB.DIR;1
-RMS-F-DEV, error in device name or inappropriate device type for operation
Here's what's in DKA100:
$ dir dka100:[000000]
Directory DKA100:[000000]
000000.DIR;1 0.50KB 7-FEB-2015 00:26:49.44
BACKUP.SYS;1 0KB 7-FEB-2015 00:26:49.44
BADBLK.SYS;1 0KB 7-FEB-2015 00:26:49.44
BADLOG.SYS;1 0KB 7-FEB-2015 00:26:49.44
BITMAP.SYS;1 5MB 7-FEB-2015 00:26:49.44
CONTIN.SYS;1 0KB 7-FEB-2015 00:26:49.44
CORIMG.SYS;1 0KB 7-FEB-2015 00:26:49.44
DECUSLIB.DIR;1 0.50KB 7-FEB-2015 00:27:23.74
INDEXF.SYS;1 2.03MB 7-FEB-2015 00:26:49.44
SECURITY.SYS;1 0.50KB 7-FEB-2015 00:26:49.44
VOLSET.SYS;1 0KB 7-FEB-2015 00:26:49.44
Total of 11 files, 7.03MB
On *NIX I'd use a symbolic link - what's the VMS solution?
Should do. I never got around to building it and lost the files in an OS wipe.

It should run fine. There is even a rtVAX1000 simulator (this was the MicroVAX II CPU with a less than full memory management implementation).

Thanks. In the meantime, I tracked one down on the net, by Martin Schoenert ( public domain ) called unzoo.c. Compiled and ran with no trouble at all.

Finally got all the freeware stuff downloaded onto SOLAR::
They can be accessed at http://solar.sampsa.com/files/ or in the FREEWARE directory on SOLAR::.

Yeah SOLAR was down for a bit, should be back up any minute now.

Nope, the server's in the UK.
And if the IP was blocked you wouldn't even get a 503, it'd just hang.
It WAS working earlier but now, 503..

Will do, this has been noted down in my "VMS cheatsheet" text file, it's about 200 KB right now.
BTW, I've just copied the files off of all the VAXhaven CDs onto SOLAR::, it's on a fast link too (100 / 100).

It is absolutely not cool to try and have one with version ;2
I would guess from the above that there already exists a

That ;2 was because his command made file specification default assumptions.
