Very nice! I assume he beefed up the power supply; do you know how he
did it? My VT103 has a PDP-11/23 in it and it's borderline on current.

I've recently gotten RSX-11M+ 4.6 installed in simh (and I'm feeling more and more comfortable with SYSGEN. ;))
Except, i'm stuck with getting DECnet working.
It seems the tape on the trailing-edge ftp site is either corrupted, or i'm terrible at using tapes in simh. Considering the presence of the .errs file in the archive and google saying a lot of the tapes are corrupted, i'm gonna lean towards that answer. Anyone have the DECnet for RSX-11M+ tape(s) anywhere?

Currently the longest run for WiFi happens to be around the
distance from the hills somewhere inside Clark County NV to
about the hills somewhere by Salt Lake Utah. But I'm not sure
what was used.
Oh and look into how the return to Mars prior to the group
we've got up there now accomplished its work.

It's pretty easy to pass the test, especially for
technician. I'm a VE (that's "volunteer examiner") and we
run regular testing sessions here in Silicon Valley twice a
month. Almost everybody who comes in to take the technician
test passes - even little kids :-)

I'm also a VE. In addition, I teach the Tech and General classes. It
typically takes 30 hours of study for Tech, and an additional 30 hours
of study for General. Extra is about 60 additional hours of study, but
I don't teach those because the class would run ~8 weeks and lugging
gear back and forth is no fun!

because you are not specifying a user, and your RSTS/E system are not
providing any proxy information as an alternative.

No worries. Keep experimenting. Just FYI - In VMS and RSX, the
commands are:
NCP SET EXEC INCOMING PROXY ENABLED
NCP SET EXEC OUTGOING PROXY ENABLED
(Although you'll only need the outgoing proxy for getting it to work
in a nicer way to MIM from your system.)
On RSTS, there is no such thing as outgoing proxy. You specify access
information or not; if not, then that seems to be what you need to get
proxy.
Inbound, exec characteristic "default account" specifies the account
to use for objects that have Verification=On (meaning access control
is used) if no access control data is given. If that isn't set, you
don't get default access. If a default account is set, that is used
for default access without any password check; even if the account
normally requires a password, the fact that it is the default lets you
get in that way.
If you specify an account but no password, that is accepted if the
account is marked as "no password required".
Hmm. So there is no way in RSTS/E to do a default mapping from one user
on machine A to another user on machine B without the user having to
specify access information either then?
Too bad in that case. And I guess that this means you cannot access
files on RSX from a RSTS/E system without explicitly giving a user and
password.
Maybe the right time to remind of the GUEST/GUEST account on MIM, though... :-)

This is probably a better idea, but it will likely need some
beefing-up of the power supply. The power supply in a VT103 is a bit
underpowered for bigger hardware. It can be done, though.
