My new ES40 arrived! It seems to be in reasonable condition, too. It's got 2 x 833MHz processors and 3Gb of RAM. There's no hard drives, but I have plenty of HP drives with sleds that fit.
There's a couple of FDDI cards which I have no idea what to do with.
Johnny, can you please add two new node names for me?

42.9 FRACK::
Done.

If Ian doesn't have any extras I have a whole frakken box of them.
They were the SCSI variety with the fixed tabs and I got them on Ebay about 4 years ago for a fibre project that ended up stillborn. They seller knocked the tabs off so they would fit a Compaq M5413 FC box but otherwise they are identical.
Get with me off list if you want.

Well, have to test myself. It's so long a time since I've been working
with Tru64 that I've forgotten many details. It's late now so I have to
test tomorrow.

There is probably the last used desktop selection "xterm".
Try to select from the session options the CDE desktop before you log in.

The usual "new DECwindows" desktop was gone.
Any ideas where to look for a fix?
The system is an AlphaServer 800 that had been power
off for a year now.

| Cory,
| I found the dna51a kit on an SPL cd in the JAN 2008 kit.
| The .dd file and its zip-ed version are now on TITAAN.
| There's two ways to get to TITAAN:
| - ftp to 87.209.50.192
| - do a dcl copy
| The usercode is GAST and it password is HECNET
| The ZIP file is still being made: it is called ZI001072.
| right now and once the ZIP command will finish it's called
| spl20082.zip
