I personally prefer the VAX/VMS version to Telengard on my Commodore 64. Though I spent a lot of time playing the C64 version when my VAX was down.

Also, whilst this is a almost irrelevant point, parsing a simple field/separator piece of text is a tiny bit more trivial than your format.
