Well, this isn't a linux forum but perhaps one of you solved this problem.
I have an Asus Eee PC 900, and it Tnow) has Fedora 14 installed.
It runs the bridge program and I want to run simh on this box since it is cheap on mains power. Its battery is shot which is why my ex gave it to me.
I have libpcap installed and used 'make USE_NETWORK'=1' to build simh.
Which fails because it cannot locate
/usr/local/llib/libpcap.a
There is a libpcap.so, in /usr/lib
Am I running an old version of linux, or made an error installing libcap?

That's my bad - the AlphaServer 1000A that runs hecnet.eu is currently

That's my bad - the AlphaServer 1000A that runs hecnet.eu is currently switched off but will be back up next week. I had previously implemented a squid cache on a box that is always up 24/7 but an ubuntu upgrade and not enough time mean that's not currently working - I'll take another look when I get a chance.

I know you are in the Netherlands (I'm in the US), but I'd *love* to have a free source for a DS[1-2]0. :) My normal sources for DEC hardware seem to have hit what is hopefully a temporary dry spell.

Lets call it for what it is - "legacy" is a term that people use in a
polite but derogatory manner to imply that the future direction they
prefer is not that which they view as the current direction.
They've discontinued the freeware ES40 emulator, so their 128 MB max memory thing is the only thing for free for now.
I'm waiting to hear back re: pricing from the Avanti people, let's see how low they can go..

Whoa! new surprise. I logged into the Stromasys site to look at the downloads and the ES40 emulator has been retired! No longer available. You have your choice of a MicroVAX 3600/3900, DEC3000-400, AlphaServer 400 or AlphaServer DS10. The DS10 is Windows 64-bit XP/7 only. The DEC3000-400 is Windows 32-bit XP only. MicroVAX is Windows 32-bit, Linux 32-bit and ESXi (VMWare) and the AS400 is Windows 64-bit, Linux 64-bit and ESXi. What a motley assortment of supported hosts - none of which are what I'm looking for. :(
Yeah, that kinda sucks. I wrote them and asked about the ES40 NCE, let's see what they say.

For a DS10 class emulator with up to 3GB of memory and lots of disk space I'd go up to $100 US. Otherwise I'm just as happy to run my DS20E or XP1000.

For me, the power savings is the main issue: I already have a chunky i86_64 box that run various VMs and emulators, so I would probably save the 100 quid in about 3 months.
