I can't access any of those. From the native NOTES interface I get a "Network partner exited" error. Perhaps the permisions are not correctly set up?

Is there a nice beginners guide to using NOTES anywhere?
Googling for it myself, managed to read some conf's and even reply to a post :)
Also, do I need a "proper" keyboard to use it or will my laptop one do?
Apparently not. I find the interface a tad confusing. Oh well, there's always PYFFLE, but nobody will use that anyway :)

I forgot I was running those :)
Well, that speaks wonders about NOTES, and our beloved machines and systems in general. They keep running even if the owner forgets about them ;)

Forgot to mention, you need to login as "pyffle" at the UNIX prompt for the BBS.

Gentlemen,
I managed to get the Linux DECNET stack on PYFFLE to work again, so it is now accessible through HECNET once more.
It's basically a classic BBS / discussion system + UUCP gateway to UUHECNET, made to look like Waffle BBS (the software that ran Mindvox).
So if you're bored, try SET HOST'ing to PYFFLE at your leisure.

Hey all,
Quick question: How would I create a LAT terminal on RSX-11M+? What
manual covers that? Did I forget to create them when I did a SYSGEN? ;)
(btw, RSX-11M+ on SIMH works properly with DECnet now)
Thanks!
Noted that you had already solved the question, but a few comments and
information that people might find useful:
DECnet and LAT in general is not covered by SYSGEN (with the one
exception that you have to answer yes to a question in SYSGEN to allow
networks to be installed later).
While DECnet holds the LAT pieces, and DECGEN compiles everything, the
NETINS.CMD that gets created will not setup LAT completely. You need to
add one line to NETINS.CMD - right before the LCP START command, you
should add an LCP CREATE command).
LAT has its own database - both a permanent and a current, just like
NCP. You set values for both with LCP. There you can define how many
terminals you want, names of services, and what not.
Manuals for RSX, DECnet, as well as some layered products are not only
available at bitsavers. Stromasys (the Charon owners) also have RSX
manuals available. See
http://www.stromasys.ch/support/support-downloadds/charon-tb-downoads/
Spelling errors:
http://www.stromasys.ch/support/support-downloads/charon-tb-downloads/ is the correct url.
