Help files under RSX looks the same way as under VMS, by the way, even if the actual program that reads them is a bit more stupid.
But I feel that this information is a bit too dynamic to really match how help files are set up. A separate tool, which can pull the information in real time would make more sense, I think.

Well there's the Info Search on RHESUS, but that's a web service.
This actually can be made to be a cron job that runs every so often and uploads a new file to RHESUS::, it's fully automated.

You could send me a list of nodes to pull iNFO.TXT off for now :)
Then work on some funkier .HLP files later.

It was :)
In any case, the INFO.TXT puller is quite clever, it strips out the .BEGIN-HECNET-INFO -
.END-HECNET-INFO bits out, I figured no use for those in a help file :)

type nikkel::info.txt
%TYPE-W-SEARCHFAIL, error searching for NIKKEL::INFO.TXT;
-RMS-E-FND, ACP file or directory lookup failed
-SYSTEM-F-INVLOGIN, login information invalid at remote node
Won't work until there's a default FAL user and an INFO.TXT...

If you don't want to send me a HLP file I can now automatically generate one
from your INFO.TXT file.
Let me know if you want your node added to the automatically generated help
file list.

20-30 / sec, at least.
Didn't use to be this rapid.
That is, I'd say, just an expected effect of having many machines and routers on the bridge... Any time a packet comes in, this message is output. And every router is regularly broadcasting packets. Add more routers, and you'll get more packets.

Johnny,
Is everything ok on the bridge - whenever I turn mine on I get about 10-20 hashes / sec from your side and it kills my routing totally.
What do you mean by "get about 10-20 hashes / sec"?

By the way, just though I'd mention that I'm not seeing any obvious problems on MIM, or the bridge at update.
Just as a silly reality check - check that you have configured your DECnet with a large enough value in the executive for maximum boradcast routers... As the bridge looks just like any ethernet segment, you need to keep in mind that this ethernet segment is getting pretty big, with quite a few area routers on the same ethernet segment...

Hmm, everything is back to normal now.
Strange.

My bridge goes NUTS when I connect to update - I get dozens of hashes per second and my DECNET routing breaks completely.
Any ideas why this is happening? Am I the only one with this problem?
Could be that someone that is connected have something broken. That tends to create havoc. Typical things would be looping back incoming packets, or creating a circular topology.
I have not checked all mails in my box yet. I'll get back if this still is an issue...
