Next question is how do I tell it to use libpcap in /usr/pkg/lib ? Or should I symlink the file to /usr/lib ?
Should be something like
LDFLAGS=-L/usr/pkg/lib
my fuzzy brain tells me...

Apologies -
No offence taken but I believe it's good to stop
misunderstandings ass soon as possible.
As for Ljubljana, I go there almost every week :)

Sorry. I have not really done the full job here.
The cc command takes that switch, but it's not obvious, when using the makefile, how you get that in there.
Depending on your make, and the phase of the moon, and so on, you might get it by doing:
"make CCOPTS=-dDPORT=xxx"
or
"make CCFLAGS=-dDPORT=xxx"
and CCFLAGS might be CFLAGS, and CCOPTS might be COPTS, I just can't remember straight off my head.
but it might be something else as well. You could also just change the makefile to include that flag on the c compile line.
I included it on the 'cc' line but it spat it out.
As a CCFLAG it worked okay.

Forgive me for being short of brain cells but where does the -dDPORT=xxxx command actually go in?

Moving Chrissies machines from area 3 to area 6 help in no way with area 1.
Just thought if we wanted to free Area 3 it was better than moving them to Area 1 which will just add to the confusion :)
So, if Chrissie don't mind, then let's get that worked over.
That's all on proviso that Chrissie's wants to move...
Could Chrissie and you, Mark, work this over and give me an update?
Will see where it goes. Presumably it would mean I have to provide area routing 24/7?
That's not an issue provided the power stays on at my place. My area router needs manual intervention to restart.
I'm happy to move my nodes. My remaining ones are
3.10 ARTHUR Linux
3.34 ROOSTA simh Emulated VAX
3.30 MARSHA VAXstation 4000VLC
If you assign me some numbers in area 6 I will renumber them
Chrissie
I can say nothing for Italian network, but for Croatian I can
assure you it's Slovenian, does not use area 54 and can be
squeezed to any area with ten or twenty unoccupied
addresses.
Hi Rok,
Apologies - I should have taken more careful note of your
correction before I posted. I've even been to Ljubljana several
years ago and I have some idea of issues in the region.
All I can say by way of excuse is that email is an excellent
tool for putting ones foot in ones mouth :-(
