Thanks for the report. I hadn't thought about that scenario. Hmm. I guess I need to make TELCOM always use the same space no matter how many terminals you use, to make it easy to change the number of terminals easily. (The size currently changes depending on the number of terminals.) Yes, for now, you'll need to rebuild TELNETD, sorry. I'll work out a fix for it, to be included. Johnny, I downloaded the new version and did tried the new installation procedure. After the IPGEN I brought my 11/83 up once with the IPAPPL.CMD and it's new TELNET$TERMINALS set to 10 and it created 10 new TTs that worked fine. Then I changed the TELNET$TERMINALS to 4, shut down and rebooted and it brought up 4 and they worked fine. Thanks for the continued improvements! By the way I did fine that you need PDP11C V1.2 to compile NTPDATE, PCL, or DHCP from the C source files as there is a small difference in how the V1.1 complier interprets the xx.port assignment. This is NOT a bug, just to say that V1.2 PDP11C is needed just like V2.7 of BP2 if you need the date fields to display 2015 correctly. I would, in general, recommend that you just leave TCP/IP alone, and it will stop when the system halts. One day I'll get around to "fix" that part, but it's a low priority thing. If you want it to shut down cleanly, you need to check with NETSTAT/ALL, and the list needs to be totally empty before you run IPREM. I just tried adding ?.ifact telnet abo telnet? to IPREM and there was no delay during shutdown. John.

John, Thanks for that line to add to the IPREM.CMD. I've been having the same problem on a on a physical PDP-11/83 and waiting for that timeout was a pain. This seems to solve it. I'll have to see if there are any issues with logged in telnet terminals as Johnny mentioned as a possibility but for now it helps a bunch.
