Greetings
Just checking I'm still subscribed? I have just started trying to give my
emulated systems a little TLC to get them reconnected. I need to find out
why my Raspberry PI based bridge isn't responding, it has run faultlessly
in the basement for years and years, but something is amiss.

I stopped trusting SD cards in a raspberry Pi 4 a while back, except as an effectively
read-only /boot until they all started being able to boot directly off USB. For a cluster
of sorts, I?ll still use SDs for /boot to get iSCSI working and connected and then it?s
NAS all the way? more or less. I gave away/sold all the 3?s I had because of the slow
network and USB connectivity.

MIM:: is really nothing to see. It's just a PC running E11, emulating an
11/74.
However, should get to Uppsala to see MAGICA:: (real 11/70) and KRILLE::
(real VAX-8650) before they get dismantled.
We had them both running a short time yesterday, but since the cooling
system is broken we could only run KRILLE:: for an hour or two...
MAGICA:: needs its FPP fixed as well...

I will cross my fingers. The best outcome by far, of course, would be
for those machines to stay right where they are under your care. But I
would not want anything bad to happen to those machines if that plan fails.

We know for certain that we must have evacuated the premise on the first of
march 2022. If the new owners restoration plans gets delayed for some reason we
might to get to stay longer. But we must act as if that is not happening.
Since we received the news we have raised the membership fee, relaxed the
rules (making it possible for non-students to become members) and search for
outside sponsors. This has given us quite a bit of cash on hand and we can
afford to keep things in storage for a while and maybe rent a smaller space.
But this is not sustainable, we need more members and more sponsorships!
